Yoga teacher training in Rishikesh cost is hard to compare from a homepage. Schools list different numbers, and some of those numbers are tuition only. This page uses the fees on our own course pages: what they include, what they leave out, and what else to budget.

A short version: a yoga course in Rishikesh with fees that cover the room, meals and tuition is often advertised from about $800 to $1,500 for a 200-hour course. Ours starts at $950 shared. The total still depends on the length, the room, flights and the visa.

DivinePath Prices Compared: 100, 200, 300 and 500 Hour

These are the live shared and private fees. Each one includes tuition, the room, three sattvic meals a day, course materials, weekend excursions and pickup from Dehradun airport (DED). Flights and the Indian visa are not included.

Programme Duration Shared room Private room Per day (shared)
100-hour YTT 12 days $800 $900 ~$67
200-hour YTT 25 days $950 $1,300 ~$38
300-hour YTT 28 days / 26 nights $1,250 $1,350 ~$45
500-hour YTT 53 days $2,250 $2,650 ~$42

The 100-hour costs more per day because 12 days still has to cover the campus, the teachers and the meals. The 200-hour is the lowest per day. Indian residents pay Rs 40,000 shared or Rs 50,000 private on the 200-hour, and Rs 50,000 shared or Rs 60,000 private on the 300-hour. The 100-hour and 500-hour fees are listed in USD.

Booked separately, the shared fees are $950 plus $1,250, which is $2,200. The 500-hour shared fee is $2,250, so the course fee is $50 more, and you make one trip instead of two.

What the Fee Actually Covers

A low headline that excludes the room and meals can cost more than a higher fee that includes them. A $600 course plus about $40 a day for food and a room is about $1,600 over 25 days.

How the Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh Price Compares Across Schools

The yoga teacher training in Rishikesh price for a 200-hour course is advertised from about $500 to $3,000. The spread usually comes from the group size, the room, and how many hours are actually taught.

Why a fee is lower

Larger groups. A batch of 30 or 40 with two teachers costs less per student than a cap of 15. Simpler rooms, sometimes a dorm with a shared bathroom. And a schedule that counts self-study toward the 200 hours. Read the daily timetable before you pay.

Why a fee is higher

Resort rooms, a spa, or teachers flown in for the month all sit on the invoice. A well-known name can charge more without teaching more. Our Tapovan campus has a pool, Wi-Fi, laundry and ensuite rooms. It is a training centre. Room photos are on the Rishikesh accommodation page.

Five questions before you book

QuestionWhy it changes the price
Does the fee include the room and meals?A $600 course plus $40 a day for food and a room is about $1,600 over 25 days.
What is the maximum group size?15 students is a different class from 35.
How many hours are contact hours? Some timetables fill the 200 hours with free time.
Is the school on Yoga Alliance's register?Check the school ID on the Yoga Alliance register. Divinepath is School ID 457520, registered as RYS 200, RYS 300 and RYS 500.
Is anything due after you arrive?Ask about exam fees, certificate fees, books and mats. We do not add those.

Costs Beyond the Course Fee

The yoga course in Rishikesh with fees covered is the largest line. It is not the whole trip.

Flights

From Europe, a return to Delhi is often about $400 to $800. From the US, about $700 to $1,200. From Southeast Asia, about $200 to $500. Dehradun (DED) has flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. A Delhi to Dehradun ticket is often about $50 to $100 each way if you book ahead. These are typical fares, not a quote.

Visa

A 30-day e-Tourist visa covers the 100-hour and 200-hour courses. For the 300-hour (28 days) or the 500-hour (53 days), apply for a longer e-Visa. Fees are often about $25 for 30 days and about $40 to $80 for a longer stay, depending on nationality. Apply several weeks ahead.

Personal spending and insurance

A cafe meal in Rishikesh is often $2 to $4. A month of Sundays out, a market run and a massage is about $100 to $200 if you are careful, and less if you mostly eat on campus. Travel insurance is not required. A month of cover is often about $40 to $100. ATMs are in Tapovan and near Laxman Jhula. Smaller shops still prefer cash.

A 200-hour budget from Europe

Course fee, a flight from Europe, the visa, personal spending and insurance. Pickup from Dehradun is included, so a taxi is only if you skip it (about $7 to $10).

ExpenseLow estimateHigh estimate
200-hour fee (shared)$950$950
Flights (Europe)$400$800
Visa (30-day e-Tourist)$25$25
Personal spending$100$200
Travel insurance$40$80
Total~$1,515~$2,055

From the US, add roughly $200 to $400 for the flight. From Southeast Asia, the flight is often $200 to $300 less than the Europe line. The course fee is the fixed part.

Early Bird Discount and the Deposit

Book six or more months before the start date and the fee is 5% lower. On the $2,250 shared 500-hour that is about $113. On the $950 shared 200-hour it is about $48.

Every course asks for a 25% deposit to hold the seat. You pay that from the course page. The other 75% is due when you arrive. We do not split the rest into monthly instalments.

What Happens If You Cancel

Cancel 30 or more days before the start date for a full refund. Under 30 days, the fee is not refundable. You may move once to a later batch, at no charge, up to 7 days before the start date. A no-show forfeits the booking. If Divinepath cancels, you can take a full refund or reschedule within 12 months.

Is the Fee Worth It?

If you want to teach at a studio, a 200-hour certificate is the usual starting point. $950 for 25 days with a room and meals is the number to compare with a short workshop at home, which is often tuition only.

If you are not sure you want to teach, do not start with 53 days. The 100-hour course is $800 and 12 days.

At $20 a class, the $950 shared fee is 48 classes and the $2,250 shared fee is 113 classes. That is arithmetic, not a promise about what you will earn. How fast you teach that many classes depends on where you live and how often you work.

Best Time to Train, and What It Does to the Trip Cost

Students at the Kunjapuri viewpoint at sunset, a weekend excursion included with the course
Kunjapuri is one of the weekend excursions in the fee. The course price does not change with the season. Flights do.

YTT batches start on the 1st of the month. The 100-hour checks in on the 1st and checks out on the 12th. Rishikesh yoga teacher training fees at Divinepath do not change by season. $950 in January is $950 in July. Flights do change.

October through March is the busy season. Mornings are cool and flights to Delhi cost more. April through June is hotter, with fewer visitors. July through September is monsoon. Flights are often cheapest then, and the river runs high. February, March, October and November are the months we suggest when someone asks about weather and a moderate fare.

Rishikesh Compared with Other Places to Train

These are typical advertised ranges for a 200-hour course, not a survey of every school. Divinepath's own 200-hour in Rishikesh is $950 shared, with the room and meals included.

Place Typical 200-hour range Room and meals usually included? Rough daily range
Rishikesh$800 – $1,500Usually yes$32 – $60
Goa$800 – $2,000Usually yes$38 – $95

Costa Rica$2,500 – $5,000Usually yes$100 – $200
Europe / USA$3,000 – $6,000Usually no$120 – $240

We also teach in Goa and Bali. Rishikesh is the lowest of our three 200-hour shared fees, and the town is the one with the ghats and the ashrams outside the shala door. Compare the three campuses on the Rishikesh training page.

When This Is the Wrong Course

If you want room service and a spa, book somewhere else. The campus is comfortable and has a pool, and it is still a training centre. Photos are on the accommodation page.

The dining hall is vegetarian for the whole course. You can eat in town on a free afternoon. If a month without meat on campus is a problem, say so before you pay the deposit.

The day runs from early morning through the evening, with breaks. It is a training timetable, not a holiday with one class a day.

How to Book

Open the Rishikesh training page and choose the 100-hour, 200-hour, 300-hour or 500-hour course. Book six months ahead if you want the 5% early-bird rate.
