Sound Healing Yoga Teacher Training in Goa

DivinePath’s Sound Healing Yoga Teacher Training in Goa combines hands-on instrument training with yoga, meditation, and teaching methodology at our campus near Arambol Beach. You learn to play Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, crystal bowls, chimes, and tuning forks — then lead sound baths, integrate sound into yoga classes, and work with clients one-on-one, in a small group you can walk to from the beach.

Sound healing is one of the fastest-growing specialisations in the wellness industry. Studios, retreat centres, and private clients increasingly ask for practitioners who can offer sound baths alongside traditional yoga. Most yoga teacher training programmes dedicate only 2–3 hours to sound healing. Our Level 1, 2, and 3 pathway (1, 3, or 5 days) gives it the time it actually needs.

What Is Sound Healing Yoga Teacher Training?

Sound healing uses vibration from instruments — singing bowls, gongs, crystal bowls, chimes — to affect the body and mind. When a Tibetan singing bowl vibrates against your chest, the frequency travels through tissue, bones, and organs. Your body is roughly 60% water, and water conducts sound more efficiently than air. The vibration reaches places that hands and stretches cannot.

The “yoga teacher training” part means you do not just learn to play instruments. You learn to teach: hold space for a room of people in Savasana, read group energy, and adjust in real time. You also learn safety — when sound healing is appropriate and when it is not (epilepsy, first trimester pregnancy, certain mental health conditions, cochlear implants).

At DivinePath, we combine sound healing with daily yoga because the two amplify each other. A sound bath after Yin yoga is a different experience than sound alone — the body is already open, the nervous system calming, and sound deepens the state that meditation alone takes longer to reach. Graduates leave able to offer standalone sound healing sessions and sound-integrated yoga classes.

Curriculum

What You Will Learn in the Sound Healing Yoga Course

Introduction to Sound Healing

The science behind why sound works. Cymatics — visible patterns sound waves create in water and sand. Brainwave entrainment — how frequencies guide the brain from beta (alert) to theta (deep relaxation) to delta (near-sleep). The Nada Yoga tradition from Indian philosophy — the yoga of sound. Understanding the why makes every practical session more intentional.

Gong and Other Sound Instruments

You work with multiple instruments, not just singing bowls. Gongs produce a wall of sound. Crystal bowls produce pure, sustained tones. Koshi chimes create delicate textures. Tingsha bells mark openings and closings. Tuning forks deliver precise frequencies for targeted work. Each instrument has a purpose — and you learn when to use each one.

Sound Meditation

Different from a sound bath. Here you are an active participant: using your voice (mantra chanting, toning, humming) as a healing instrument, practising Nada Yoga techniques, and listening as a concentration anchor. We include kirtan as part of evening practice because it trains your voice and your ability to hold a room musically. Morning sessions often begin with pranayama so the body is open before instrument work.

Sound Bath Practice

A sound bath is a group session where participants lie down (usually in Savasana) while you play instruments around them. The skill is in the arc — open gently, build complexity, sustain without overwhelming, then close into silence and bring people back. You practise facilitating multiple times with feedback from your instructor and peers.

Yoga and Sound Integration

This module separates our training from standalone sound courses. You learn to weave sound into a regular yoga class: a bowl during Savasana, chimes between poses in a Yin class, bija mantra for each chakra in a chakra-focused flow, or a gong drone under guided meditation. Studios and retreat centres actively seek this blended skill set.

Practical Teaching

You plan a session, set up a room, welcome participants, lead the experience, and close the space — then get detailed feedback. By graduation you will have led sound baths, sound meditations, and sound-integrated yoga. Your first paid session after the course will not be your first session ever.

Who Can Join Sound Healing Yoga Teacher Training in Goa?

No prior sound healing experience needed. You do not need musical training, sheet music, or perfect pitch. Singing bowls, gongs, and chimes require technique — and we teach that from scratch.

Yoga teachers looking to specialise. If you already hold an RYT 200 or RYT 500, sound healing is one of the most marketable add-ons you can offer. Pair it later with our 200-hour yoga teacher training ($899 in Goa) or 300-hour courses at any DivinePath campus.

Wellness practitioners and therapists. Massage therapists, Reiki practitioners, counsellors, and physiotherapists use sound as a complementary modality. Several students arrive from non-yoga backgrounds and find the training accessible.

Complete beginners with genuine interest are welcome. Yoga is beginner-friendly (Hatha-based). Sound modules start from zero. We ask for an open mind, willingness to sit with silence and vibration, and daily commitment for your chosen level.

Who should not join: If you want a purely academic programme, this is not it — emphasis is practical. If you have severe noise sensitivity, tinnitus, or a condition that makes prolonged vibration uncomfortable, consult your doctor first. This is professional training with a full daily schedule, not a casual holiday activity.

Career Pathways

What Can You Do After Completing Sound Healing Training?

Offer standalone sound bath sessions. Group sound baths are in demand worldwide. Many graduates start with monthly baths at local studios.

Add sound healing to your yoga classes. A singing bowl in Savasana or a gong in Yin immediately differentiates your class.

Work at retreat centres and wellness resorts. Centres in Bali, Thailand, Portugal, Costa Rica, and India seek practitioners who can offer both yoga and sound — dual skill makes you more hireable.

Offer private sound healing sessions. One-on-one bowl work builds deep client loyalty. Our individual healing modules prepare you for this.

Combine with other DivinePath certifications. Sound healing pairs naturally with our 200-hour yoga teacher training ($899 in Goa) and meditation training. Many students do both across separate trips — and can continue at our Bali campuses as well.

Your Next Step

Tibetan singing bowls are over 2,000 years old. What is new is the wellness market recognising what Eastern traditions have known: vibration heals. If you want to learn this properly — hands-on, in a small group, near the beach in Goa — this training is designed for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is a training programme at DivinePath in Arambol, Goa where you learn to play sound healing instruments (Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, crystal bowls, chimes, tuning forks), lead sound baths and sound meditations, and weave sound into yoga classes. Choose Level 1 (1 day from $262), Level 2 (3 days from $524), or Level 3 (5 days from $734). Certification is YACEP — Yoga Alliance.

Anyone with genuine interest. No prior sound healing experience, musical training, or yoga certification required. The course is designed for yoga teachers adding a specialisation, wellness practitioners expanding their skills, and complete beginners drawn to the practice. The yoga component is beginner-friendly.

Yes. About half of our students have no prior sound healing experience. Singing bowls and gongs are not traditional musical instruments — they require technique, not talent. We teach from scratch. By the end of the course, every student can lead a sound bath and integrate sound into a yoga class.

Level 1 is $262 USD (₹25,000) for 1 day / 4 hours. Level 2 is $524 USD (₹50,000) for 3 days / 12 hours. Level 3 is $734 USD (₹70,000) for 5 days / 20 hours. Campus stay and meals can be arranged separately.

Sound and yoga work on the same systems from different angles. Yoga opens the body and calms the nervous system through movement and breath. Sound healing uses vibration to reach deeper than physical stretching can. When combined — for example a singing bowl during Savasana or a gong during Yin yoga — the effects are stronger than either practice alone. At DivinePath, we teach you to blend both naturally in a single class.

Arambol in North Goa is one of the world’s most active sound healing communities. You train at our campus during the day and absorb the wider sound culture in the village during evenings. We combine sound healing with yoga integration skills that standalone sound courses skip. Small groups ensure hands-on instrument time, and certification is YACEP — Yoga Alliance.
