At DivinePath Yoga School & Retreat, we keep our courses small and personal. A confirmed booking holds a real room, a real seat in the training, and a share of the food, materials, and teaching time we prepare for you. Because of this, our refund and cancellation terms matter most before you pay, not after a plan changes.
Please read this page carefully before you send a deposit. If anything here is unclear, email us at divinepathretreat@gmail.com and we will explain it in plain terms before you commit.
This policy covers our Yoga Teacher Training courses (100-hour, 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour) and our yoga retreats across our campuses in Goa (Arambol), Rishikesh (Laxman Jhula), and Bali (Ubud and Klungkung).
For Yoga Teacher Training, if you paid only a deposit, you receive a full refund if you cancel 30 or more days before your start date for a genuine emergency, a 50% refund if you cancel 20 to 29 days before, and no refund if you cancel less than 20 days before. If you paid the full course fee upfront, full refund still applies 30+ days before start; from 20 days before start only 10% of the course fee is chargeable and 90% is refunded — including when you cancel less than 20 days before start. You can also ask to move once to a later batch up to 7 days before your start date. Yoga retreats are non-refundable but can be postponed within 12 months or transferred to someone else.
The full detail is below.
To confirm a place in any course or retreat, we ask for a deposit. The deposit is usually 25% of the total course fee, and it secures your room and your seat in a specific batch.
Your deposit is part of your total fee, not an extra charge. Once we receive it, we stop offering that seat to other students. For Yoga Teacher Training, refund rules depend on whether you paid only the deposit or the full course fee upfront — see the sections below. For retreats, the deposit is non-refundable.
You can pay your deposit by bank transfer, credit or debit card, or PayPal. Please see the payment notes near the end of this page before choosing PayPal.
The remaining balance is due before or upon arrival at your campus.
We recommend paying the balance in cash or by online bank transfer when you arrive. This is usually the cheapest option for you, because card payments made at the school carry extra transaction fees, and full payment by PayPal is not available for our India-based bookings due to a 5% surcharge.
If you would prefer to settle everything in advance, let us know and we will share the best method for your country.
These tiers apply if you have paid only the deposit or part of the course fee (but not the full amount) for our 100-hour, 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training courses.
If you need to cancel, email us straight away. The earlier you tell us, the more options we usually have to help.
These tiers apply if you paid the entire course fee upfront (deposit plus balance) before your start date.
Example: on a $1,000 course, if you paid $1,000 in full and cancel 10 days before start, $100 (10%) is retained and $900 is returned to you.
Sometimes events outside our control force us to change or cancel a course or retreat. This is rare, but if it happens, you are fully protected.
If we cancel a program due to unforeseen circumstances, you may choose to either reschedule to any later batch within 12 months or receive a full refund of every fee you have paid. The choice is yours.
We will never keep your money if we are the reason a program does not run.
If you do not arrive for your program and have not told us in advance, the booking is forfeited. In a no-show situation we are not able to offer a refund, a transfer, or a reschedule, because the seat was held and prepared for you.
If something happens on the way and you know you will not make it, please message us as early as possible. Even a short notice gives us a chance to discuss your options.
Our training schedules are built around a fixed start and end date, and the curriculum hours are set by Yoga Alliance standards.
If you arrive late or leave early, we cannot offer a partial refund for the days you miss. The full program is reserved for you whether or not you attend every session. If you know your travel may run tight, talk to us before booking so we can suggest a batch that fits your dates better.
We understand that flights, visas, and work leave do not always go to plan.
For Yoga Teacher Training: You may request to move once to a later course, free of charge, as long as you email us up to 7 days before your start date and have a genuine reason. We will hold your payment toward the new batch.
For yoga retreats: You may postpone your retreat to any future batch within 12 months, or transfer your booking to a friend or family member. Rescheduling requests must reach us at least 7 days before the start date.
A transfer or postponement keeps your money working for you rather than losing it to a cancellation.
We are not able to offer a special refund outside the standard tiers above for a visa refusal, so please apply for your visa early and only book a fixed date once your travel feels secure.
If your visa is refused while there is still time, the best path is usually to postpone to a later batch rather than cancel. Contact us as soon as you have news and we will do what we can to move your booking instead of losing it.
A genuine illness or medical emergency is exactly the kind of situation our full-refund tier is designed for, provided you reach the 30-days-or-more window.
If a medical emergency happens closer to your start date, contact us immediately with supporting details such as a doctor's note. While the standard tiers still apply, we will always look at a postponement first so your payment stays with you for a future course.
If a natural disaster, government order, local restriction, or major travel disruption prevents a program from running, this is treated as a cancellation by us. You may reschedule within 12 months or take a full refund.
If the disruption affects your ability to travel but the program still runs as planned, the standard student-cancellation tiers apply. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, so you are protected in situations neither of us can control.
Once a refund is approved, we begin processing it promptly. Refunds are returned to the original payment method wherever possible.
Bank transfers and card refunds usually take 7 to 14 business days to reach you, depending on your bank and country. International transfers can occasionally take a little longer. We will confirm by email when your refund has been sent.
Even within a refundable window, a few costs cannot be returned, because they are paid out to third parties on your behalf:
We keep this list short on purpose. We do not invent fees.
To cancel, postpone, transfer, or request a refund, please email us at divinepathretreat@gmail.com or use our Contact Page.
To help us act quickly, include your full name, your course or retreat name, your campus (Goa, Rishikesh, or Bali), your start date, and a short explanation. If you are requesting a full refund for an emergency, please attach any supporting documents you can.
We aim to reply within a couple of working days.

Yoga retreats: Non-refundable. May be postponed within 12 months or transferred to a friend or family member, with at least 7 days' notice.
A genuine illness, a serious family problem, or another real situation you cannot control. Tell us as early as possible and send any supporting details, such as a doctor's note, so we can process your request smoothly.
If you paid only the deposit, the deposit and partial-payment tiers above apply (including 50% refund at 20–29 days and no refund under 20 days). If you paid the full course fee upfront, only 10% of the course fee may be retained when you cancel from 20 days before start onward; 90% is refunded. For retreats, the deposit is non-refundable.
Full refund if you cancel 30 or more days before start (genuine emergency). From 20 to 29 days before start, only 10% of the course fee is chargeable and 90% is refunded. Less than 20 days before start, 10% of the course fee is deducted and the remaining 90% is refunded.
If you paid only a deposit, there is no refund. If you paid the full course fee upfront, 10% of the course fee is retained and 90% is refunded. You can still ask to move to a later course up to 7 days before your start date if you have a genuine reason.
The standard refund tiers apply, so apply early and book a fixed date only once your travel feels secure. If a visa is refused while there is still time, we will usually help you postpone to a later batch rather than lose your payment.
For yoga retreats, yes — you can transfer your booking to a friend or family member with at least 7 days' notice. For Yoga Teacher Training, please contact us, as transfers of a YTT seat to another person are handled case by case.
Once approved, most refunds arrive within 7 to 14 business days, depending on your bank and country. International transfers can sometimes take a little longer. We email you once the refund has been sent.
Retreat fees are non-refundable, including deposits and partial or full payments. However, you can postpone to any batch within 12 months or transfer your place to someone else, with at least 7 days' notice.
Because we keep our batches small. When you book, we hold a room, reserve your meals, and commit teaching time to you. Close to the start date these costs are already locked in and cannot be recovered, which is why early notice always gives you the most options.

Refund Notes
At Divinepath, we keep seats small, so a booking affects rooms, teachers, meals, and other students waiting for space. That is why refund rules matter before payment, not after a plan changes.
Do not book a fixed course date if your flights, visa, work leave, or health situation is uncertain. Ask whether a later batch is safer for you.
If something unexpected happens, contact us early. Last-minute changes are harder to solve, especially in peak season when rooms and batch planning are already locked.
