Syllabus Overview

You will learn how to use and deliver various breathing techniques and the basic concepts of meditation and stillness. Dhyana (meditation) is something that yogis have practised for thousands of years, so we’ll explore meditation techniques and how they can be used to train attention and awareness and help both you and your students achieve a mentally clear, emotionally calm and stable state.

We’ll also explore breathing techniques outside the diaphragmatic and Ujjayi breaths often used during yoga practice. You’ll learn to incorporate these into your teaching and daily life.

You’ll learn about: The how-to’s and benefits of meditation The different styles of meditation and how to practice and teach them How to practice and teach pranayama and the various breathing techniques The uses of breathing techniques and their benefits The importance of pranayama and meditation to yoga practice and daily life

Decorative FAQ separator line

Hatha Yoga is the base of all yoga styles. It is slow, steady, and gives you time to really feel each pose. In this part of the training, you will practise the main yoga postures, learn how to sit, stand, and move safely, and use your breath to stay calm and focused. You’ll learn:

  • How to do the basic yoga poses with safe alignment
  • How to use your breath to relax and stay steady
  • Simple ways to build strength and flexibility
  • How to use props or small changes to fit every body type

Decorative FAQ separator line

Ashtanga Vinyasa is a strong and active style of yoga. You move from one pose to the next in a set order, almost like a dance with your breath. This helps build strength, energy, and focus. You will learn the basics of the Primary Series, which is the first part of Ashtanga practice. You’ll learn:

  • Step-by-step practice of the Primary Series
  • How to flow safely from one pose to the next
  • How to use your breath and gaze to stay focused
  • Ways to make Ashtanga easier for beginners or more challenging for advanced students

Decorative FAQ separator line

As a yoga teacher, knowing about anatomy is essential to leading a healthy practice better and helping students understand what’s going on in the body. Studying anatomy will allow you to lead classes with more explicit instruction, tell your students which body parts should be contracting and relaxing in various poses, and better understand weak, tight, and injured areas. You’ll leave with a greater understanding of the different systems of the body and how yoga can impact these various areas. This understanding will inform your teaching and allow you to lead with greater understanding and compassion.

Decorative FAQ separator line

Practicum includes having a personal practice while enrolled in 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa, completing class observations, teaching back to the class and receiving feedback from peers and instructors. It is required that students enrolled in the YTT program observe six classes while enrolled in training. Each student will be required to lead 1-hour long class at the studio to complete YTT, with additional practice opportunities during class and in group work. There will be an option for additional feedback if requested.

Decorative FAQ separator line

You’ll explore Yoga texts and cover topics such as the Yoga Sutras and the eight limbs of yoga, including the yamas and niyamas. You’ll learn the foundational principles of yoga as a lifestyle and practice. The ethics portion includes teacher-student relationships, community, and service. You’ll learn about the many lineages and styles of yoga, including Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Yoga, and others. The focus will be on the movement styles of practice, including Vinyasa Yoga, which was born from the Ashtanga lineage.

Decorative FAQ separator line

Moving from one yoga posture to the next in a flow-style practice should have the same fluidity and seamless transition often observed in dance. This transition is also essential to practices incorporating slower movement and longer-held postures.

In this module, you will learn how to sequence and theme a class so that your classes move seamlessly, your students can connect with themselves, and they can experience all of the intended benefits of their practice. You will also learn how physical and verbal cues and adjustments can help your students tune into their bodies and achieve a safe and intelligent mind-body connection.

You’ll learn about: Constructing, sequencing, and theming a class How to structure a yoga class by building postural arcs and valleys How to safely provide physical and verbal adjustments and modifications

Multi Style Yoga

Which Yoga Styles Will You Learn?

You train across three classical traditions in one curriculum, so you graduate able to read a room and teach the method that fits the student in front of you — not just one fixed system.

Style What it builds Best for teaching
Hatha Alignment, breath control, and safe cueing of foundational postures. Slow, grounding classes with modifications for mixed-ability students.
Vinyasa Breath-to-movement sequencing and creative transitions. Dynamic, energizing flow classes.
Ashtanga Primary Series foundations and disciplined, set-sequence practice. Traditional, repeatable sequences with modern modifications.

"I had a wonderful time at Divine Path. I met so many amazing people, and the staff was always incredibly helpful. I learned a lot about yoga and really pushed myself to my limits, but it was absolutely worth it. The resort is beautiful and in a great location. The beach is within walking distance, and there are plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants nearby. Thank you so much for this amazing experience."

Beginner Friendly

Can Beginners Join? Yoga Teacher Training for Beginners in Goa

Yes. Our beginner yoga teacher training in Goa welcomes sincere students with some regular practice behind them — you don't need advanced skills, only commitment. You start from fundamentals and build toward confident teaching in 21 days. Many graduates arrived with just 6–12 months of personal practice and thrived.

Prerequisites for Beginners

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Minimum 6 months of regular yoga practice — not intensive, just consistent. 2-3 classes per week is enough.
  • Comfort with basic postures — you should be at ease in Child's Pose, Downward Dog, Warrior I, and Cat-Cow.
  • Physical fitness — ability to hold poses for 5-10 breath cycles without strain.
  • Early morning availability — practice begins early each day as part of traditional yoga study.
  • Open mindset — willingness to learn, ask questions, and embrace traditional yoga philosophy alongside anatomy and biomechanics.
  • Genuine interest in teaching — you don't need prior teaching experience, but you should want to share yoga with others.

Why First-Timers Succeed Here

The 21-day schedule is built as a beginner's ladder, so you are never asked to do something you haven't been prepared for.

Week 1 — Get comfortable. You learn the foundation poses slowly, with breath and alignment first. No prior flexibility or experience is assumed; you simply learn to move and breathe correctly.

Week 2 — Understand the "why". Once the poses feel familiar, you start learning how to sequence them, how the body works, and how to cue a beginner — first on paper, then in pairs.

Week 3 — Teach for real. You lead short, then full classes in front of the group, with feedback after each one. By graduation, first-timers walk out having already taught — not just studied.
