Affordable Yoga Teacher Training in Goa

My First Steps in Goa for 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

When I first stepped out from the Taxi in Arambol, the salty sea breeze and rustling palm fronds felt like a warm welcome. I had signed up for an 11-days 100 hour yoga teacher training in Goa at DivinePath’s Yoga school, excited and a bit nervous about what lay ahead. The school felt like a hidden sanctuary – colorful thatched cottages around a quiet courtyard and a swimming pool in between them. I remember breathing in deeply under a coconut tree and thinking, “This is exactly what I needed.” As I settled into my wooden cabin that first evening, I felt all my worries begin to wash away. By day one, as I unrolled my mat, I felt this 100 hour yoga teacher training in Goa was truly special.

💬 Lina from Brazil shared:

“Arriving in Goa, I instantly felt the calm energy. The school felt less like a campus and more like a peaceful retreat. I had no idea an affordable TTC could feel this rich.”

The Yoga Vibe in Goa – Why Students Love this yoga training course

As the sun rose each morning, I practiced meditation on YogaShala, surrounded by tropical plants. DivinePath often says that Goa “offers the perfect balance of nature, culture, and community,” even calling it “one of the best places in India to begin your yoga journey and they are right. Every day, I heard waves crashing in the distance while a gentle sea breeze kept me cool. After class I’d stroll to the beach just a few minutes away, feeling sand between my toes. Nights were peaceful and full of soft chants or kirtan under the stars. Goa’s warm, relaxed atmosphere made learning yoga effortless. It often felt like a moving meditation

💬 Ananya from Delhi said:

“For me, yoga in Goa was different than anywhere else. The beaches, the breeze, the sunsets—it made learning yoga feel like a moving meditation.”

In this relaxed atmosphere, learning became effortless. That’s the beauty of a budget yoga TTC in Goa—you get a beginner’s yoga course in a world-class location, without the heavy costs.

A Day in Our 100-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Our days followed a gentle rhythm. At dawn we gathered for pranayama and meditation, often with the sound of distant waves in our ears. Then came a flowing yoga class – sometimes Vinyasa or even Ashtanga – to wake up the body. After that, we ate a hearty vegetarian brunch together under the palm leaves. In the afternoons we switched gears to theory and technique: one day I was learning about anatomy or alignment, however I didn’t expect to enjoy anatomy class so much, but it surprised me. The next I was chanting a mantra or studying yoga philosophy. The school’s curriculum promised we’d “practice Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga Yoga while also learning the basics of yoga philosophy, anatomy, breathing techniques, meditation, and mantra chanting”, and they delivered. By sunset there was often a gentle Hatha session or even a kirtan (devotional song). It truly felt like “living and learning yoga every day in a peaceful setting by the beaches of Goa”. My body was tired in all the right ways, and my mind was quiet with satisfaction each night.

💬 Raj, a beginner from Delhi, said:

“I was nervous that I’d be behind as a beginner, but the teachers made everything approachable. By the end, I felt stronger, calmer, and more confident.”

From 100 Hour to 200 Hour Yoga TTC in Goa – Upgrade Path

By the end of 11 days, many of us felt hungry for more. DivinePath explains that this 100 hour YTT course is essentially the first half of their full 200 hour YTT course in Goa. I met students who were staying on to finish the second half and earn the Yoga Alliance certificate. Their website clearly said that that this 100 hour course is not Yoga Alliance certified—it’s a foundation for beginners and if you return to complete the second 100 hours, “once you complete both parts, you will receive the 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certificate, which allows you to teach yoga anywhere in the world”. In other words, this course gives you the flexibility to start small and upgrade later when you’re ready. For comparison, the 200-hour course (23 days) starts around USD 699 for a shared AC room or USD 999 for a private cottage – more expensive, yes, but still reasonable for a full Yoga Alliance certification. Some students even finish the 100-hour ytt and immediately join in the 200-hour yoga ttc course to advance the knoledge and register to yoga alliance.

👉 Important to note (summary):

  • The 100 hour YTT is not Yoga Alliance certified. It’s designed as a beginner’s step.
  • To teach internationally, you’ll need the 200 hour yoga teacher training in Goa, which is Yoga Alliance accredited.(See Official Yoga Alliance requirements here)
